Inventory Slot Icon

The inventory slot icon was one of the first icons that I began to work on for Gears Of Discovery. This icon needed to let the player know that it was some type of inventory slot or some container within their UI. For the design of this specific icon I wanted it to be focused more on the metal aspect of our bot character, showing that the inventory slots are part of the bot, or rather in the bot. The shape of the inventory slot is different than any other item within the player UI, really ensuring that there is a separation between it and everything else.

When the player is scrolling through their inventory system I wanted there to be a subtle separation between the selected inventory slot and the non selected. For this I ended up increasing the size of the inventory slot while keeping it centered to allow the player to know that the bigger slot is the selected slot.
